I'm still wondering how to submit the page to google. though I still don't know how this blog got into google in the first place. Lol.

I'm building the Nemo to give as a gift to my fiancee. since her favorite color is pink, I've decided to base the color scheme to the Infinite Justice Gundam. Hopefully it would turn out to look like a mass produced Infinite Justice Gundam. ^^

Since tropical storm Xangsane knocked out the power for the whole city, I guess there was nothing else to do but go out and take some pictures:

What I like about my neighborhood is that there are a lot of trees around. However once in a while a tropical storm passes by and rips these trees off their roots and leaves them for dead. there were so much uprooted trees around, it would have made a grown druid cry.

now these are what I call road blocks!

tree branches left on the road after the wake of the typhoon. these leaves and branches were actually flying around like green winged bats and deformed broomstick during the storm. I even had to dodge them while driving home.

I guess Someone upstairs is saying "thou shall allow parking here!"

the bus won't be stopping here today... good thing no one was hurt though.

1: cars driving up thru the pedestrian sidewalk.
2: This guy just realized that his car won't make it thru the flooded area
3: if you drive a SUV, you could probably brave the waters.
4: this guy is smarter... going thru the side of the street where there's higher ground.

MG XM-X1 Crossbone Gundam X-1 Ver Ka

what the!?! is it out? found this on Dalong.net to check out the parts click here. looks like this kit doesn't have polycaps, which makes it similar to that of the MG F91. It's a bit shorter than the RX78, and about the same size as the F91 and the Wing Gundam Ver ka. It comes with a cloth cloak, however the cloak look like crap. I suggest you just burn it or probably use it to wipe your *** when you run out of toilet paper. and like the Wing Gundam Ver Ka. it comes with a lot of stickers.
I'll probably get one as soon as its available here. Kudos to Dalong however to be able to get his grubby mitts on one this early.

Since I've been collecting Gundam Fix Figurations, I'm starting to feel too lazy to work on my MG kits. however I've decided to start on my new project. the MSA-003 Nemo. I've already done some preliminary color scheme on it. hopefully I'd still have some free time tomorrow to start painting the kit.

Zeta Gundam Movie Gundam Fix Figuration

This is the figures from the Z Gundam Movie box set Gundam Fix Figuration. Although it was a lot cheaper than if I had bought them separately, it did have significantly less accessories compared to their individually boxed counterpart (no hyper mega cannon for zeta for example). However these gundams had other redeeming qualities. The finish on the blue parts had a metallic hue, and the 3 stand it came with were transparent. Overall it’s a good buy. But if you prefer your gundam fix figuration to come with a vast array of weapons and accessories I would suggest to stick with buying them separately.

HCM-Pro MSN-04 Sazabi

I got myself a HCM-Pro Sazabi a while back. HCM-Pro stands for the "High Complete Model Progressive" series that bandai has came out with. The normal HCM-Pro Gundam are only 1/200 scale as opposed to the PG which are 1/60, MG 1/100 or the HG 1/144. however the details on these plastic kits are really good, sometimes even better than their 1/100 counterparts. also if you find putting together your gundams a bit of a chore, you'd be glad to know these babies come mostly built, aside from small bits from part for the shield, weapons and interchagable hands. and finally the price, quite frankly the best bang for your buck! these things are quite cheap compared to other plastic kits with the same level of detailing.

For those people who buy Gundam Fix Figurations, no doubt you'll end up with tons of spare parts like me. and if you keep these parts in their original box, sooner or later you'd be filling up your closet with the boxes of your gundam goodies and throwing out your clothes. until all you'd have left are the ones on your back.
So, in the interest of having more than one set of clothes, I've decided to throw out some of my old gundam boxes, and store the parts in a single box.

A friend of mine gave me a DVD of the original gundam series. Although I find some of the subtitles hard to understand, there are some of the ones I find strange or even hilarious.

Finally got the MSZ-008 ZII out of its box. I've had this Gundam Fix Figuration for a while now, but didn't have the time to let it out of the box til now. This particular gundam is actually able to transform to waverider form,thats space ship form for those who don't understand. Lol.

Found this Figure on sale. I got it for less than $40usd, altho the price on the box clearly say 8800yen (around $75usd). I did a bit of research on ebay, apparently this particular figure was auction at around $152usd!!! \(O.o)/

if you own a wing gundam, you'd notice that it has an oversized gun/rifle which slacks down the arm holding it because of its weight. thus making battle poses with it a real pain. however bandai was smart enough to anticipate this and provided a solution.

there's actually a clip on the rear of the rifle which clips on the lower part of the upper arm assembly. although this means you still can't have a fully extended arm holding the gun. at least you can pose your wing gundam with guns pointing up. :)

How to USB your Gundam

I've decided to do my own tutorial on how to connect your PG gundams to a USB port. But first off I should first give credit to Danny Choo to whom I first learned that this could be done. Also please take note that if you do decide to do this, please do so at your own risk.

First find yourself some:
1. USB cable... duh!?!
2. A 3v resistor so as not to burn out the LED of your gundam. (as I found out the hard way)
3. Some wire if your gundam stands across the other end of the room from your power source
4. A LED if you're modifying a MG
5. and finally an ipod charger if you feel like that having the eyes on when you're on your desk is not enough and you need your gundam's eyes glowing 24/7. Note that you can even use a car charger if you're thinking of using your gundam as a hood ornament.

Cut off the other end of the cable and strip it to expose the 4 colored wires.

Strip off the ends of the red and black wires. The red wire carries the charge (5v), the black acts as a ground, while the white and green carries your data to whatever USB device you connect it to.

Connect the resistor to the RED wire. The picture shows you what NOT to do. LOL! I actually forgot to about that this time. Doh!

Here you see that I wrapped the wire with electrical tape. If there are any electricians out there reading this, yes I know I should solder them together. But since I didn't want to stink up my room with the smell of burnt lead, I figured this would do.

Here you see me testing the connection out on a LED. please be careful not to let both wires touch each other. Although I've never done it myself, I've heard that some people have their USB port shorted out and become completely unusable all because the accidentally cross these two wires.

Now hook that up to the connectors that leads to your LED. note that on some perfect grade such as the strike gundam have the battery compartment on the head thus you'd have to run the wires down thru the neck. I would advice you to use the thinnest possible wire you can find, since you're going to have a hard time closing the head compartment with the wires running thru it.

now your gundam is ready to plug and play!!!

Plug your USB to your computer or ipod charger and take some pictures of your gundam!

or if you have a baby sibling or kids who keeps on manhandling all the gundams in your room. you can opt to tell them that a ghost inhabits this one to look after the rest of your collections, waiting for naughty children to come in to eat them.

Whenever I use my airbrush to paint my Gundams, I always make sure to use latex gloves. Since I hate it how paint would somehow find its way underneath the fingernails. But right after painting, I find myself thinking, should I keep and reuse the gloves for my next project? Then again their cheap anyway, and besides it says "DISPOSABLE" on the back of the box, meaning their not really meant to be reused. But you'd be surprised to know that I've known some nurses and medical personnel who actually reuse their disposable latex gloves!!! If you're one of them or know anyone in the medical field who does this, please tell them: FOR HEAVEN'S SAKE PLEASE DO NOT REUSE YOUR DISPOSABLE LATEX GLOVES!!!

Don't you just hate life's simple ironies? I just got my self a revoltech eva 03 a week ago only to find out they came out with a eva 04. Seems like the new eva 04 is similar to the eva 03 (even has exactly the same accessories as the eva 03) but with a much cooler paint job. now ain't that just a-kick-on-the-head FANTASTIC!

Someone actually built a giant sized 1:1 scale of a zeta gundam in their back yard. the thing is 7 meters high and 3 meters wide, and even has hydraulic pistons hidden in its crotch area, ...for the hands and feet. :D

Finally done with the Zeta Gundam... forgot how much of a pain water decals were to put on. personally I'd prefer to use dry transfer decals. but then again, they are much harder to come by.

Since I haven't really finish the Titan Zeta yet. (just decals left) I figured I'd just append an image to this post. I airbrushed the panel lines and edges to make the gundam a bit more weathered. :)

repainted the blue to flat blue. I'm thinking of doing the same to the black part. but since I haven't started with the weapons and decals yet. I'll probably do that some other time. ^^

I finally got my first airbrush. I decided to experiment using a RGM-79C GM mobile suit kit which I got on sale, Hoping that if I make a mess out of it, I wouldn't kick myself too hard. However as it turned out, I'm quite pleased on how it turned out.

(also comes in battle scarred edition) alright, it isn't really a gundam, but since this guy seems to be a bigger gundamaniac than me, I decieded to put a picture of his jeep on my blog. This guy even customized his car horn with toy gunfire sound. Talk about crazy!

like all fix figuration gundams, this unit is actually a 1/144 scale model. But when put together, its comes out bigger than most of my 1/100 kits. I wonder how big it would turn out as a 1/100 or 1/60 kit.

FFG Destiny Gundam

I've had this Fix Figuration Gundam for almost a month now, and I guess it was about time I opened it. However I felt that the slits under the eyes were too weak, so I took a page from Danny Choo of www.dannychoo.com and used a blade to cut the slits wider and repainted them with red paint.

i tried to use some gundam weathering markers on my old destiny gundam to make it look battle scarred. although it turned out to be more rusted than battle scarred. :(

1/100 GAT105 Strike Gundam (metal frame)

I had this 1/100 model of aile strike gundam a while back. this particular one had a diecast metal frame, thus making it much sturdier than the usual plastic mold kits. however it also madeit a lot heavier. Suffice to say, my gunpla stand could only hold it for 10 sec before it fell off my shelf. not to worry though, it didn't even have a single scratch mark on it after the fall. it did hurt my foot tho. *ouch*

MK-II Titan Gundam Ver 2

just finished with the transfer stickers. however I decieded not to stick any of the non-transfer type stickers since they tend to stand out with a opaque square on top of the Mk-II Titan's dark color.

I haven't really finished this master grade gundam yet. after i finish the weapon systems and a bit more detailing it would probably look better.

I had some cans of extra silver chrome and gold paint so I decided to experiment a bit on my blue frame astray. Since the color scheme on the model didn’t match the original color on the instruction booklet, I thought what the heck. Might as well have a bit of fun making a new color scheme.

Full Metal Alchemist is another cool anime. It's ending however sucked bigtime! anyway, I found these figurines while wandering around Causeway bay, Hong Kong. All though they usually sell these in random in individual identical boxes.I found a shop that sells them as a set.

I brought these figurines a few years ago. Ah my goddess was a great anime. Unfortunately it ran for just a few episodes. Although they started another new series for it, the animation just wasn't as good as the original series

since i found out that the batteries for the strike was a pain to change, i decieded to connect it to a usb socket. unfortunately i found out that the LED on it runs only on 3v, and the usb socket runs on 5v. suffice to say the LED burned out after a while. :( I guess i have to find myslef new LEDs soon.

here is the picture of all the pvc plastic runners left out after I completed the perfect grade strike gundam. I wonder if there's enough left over to mold another model, probably one of those 1/144 scale kits.

I've decieded to post some more pictures of gundam models. although if this keeps up, i should probably change my blog title. :D
these are pictures of 1/100 Strike Freedom and Destiny Gundams I put together a while back. the strike freedom came with a stand to pose your gundam on, however the destiny gundam didn't. apperently the stand was a special limited edition bonus.

I'm finally done with the PG strike gundam. I was surprised on how much detail there was on this model. I'd sometimes spend so much time cleaning up and detailing a parts only to have it covered up by bits of armor. :p
Although I'd would probably be able to finish this model within a day. but since i only spend an hour a day for this project. it took me a week to get it done.

I'm starting work on a perfect grade strike gundam. first off, I've decieded to paint the model on its runners just before i snip-snap it together. although this isn't the first time for me to use paint on a model, the last time i used spray paints i got a bit of paint into my eyes. This time however i decieded to take a bit more precaution. i got myself a 3m dust mask, safety googles and a pair of latex gloves.
